My ongoing comments about Illini Basketball, past or upcoming games, recruiting news or speculation, opinions, facts, etc. I might be critical at times, but don't be fooled into thinking I'm not anything but an Illini basketball fan. The Chicago Tribune had an optimistic update article on Jeff Jordan today. Seems he might be down to either the Illini or Valpo, and a decision is likely early next week.
C.J. is a better football and basketball player than Jeff Jordan. And based on the spring game (pass goes through C.J. hands and hits him in helmut) C.J. is not much of a tight end.
Not sure I agree that CJ is better than Jeff Jordan. CJ did not even play at garbage time last season, yet a walk in like Meacham was able to start some games.
I missed CJ's demo on how to catch a football, so can't argue with that. Maybe that's why he stayed on the bench in basketball, no hands......
I think Weber is reluctant to use C.J. Doubt that will change.
Jordan, on the other hand, is a 3 star guard, might get a lot better over the next couple of years, could be a starter for the Illini by his junior or senior year. His main weakness is shooting, but Chester Frazier starts, doesn't he?

C.J. is 6'7. By my observation Jeff Jordan is 5'11". Neither is a great player. By doing the math, C.J. appears to be more likely to help than Jeff.

Jeff Jordan is small and relatively weak. Chet is a stud. He is the toughest guy on the team. He played through injuries.
ReplyDeleteIf he develops a shot, Chet may be able to play at the next level. From the 06- 07 team the staff thought chet was the best overall player.
Jordan is looking at more than just Illinois, by the way.
