2008/2009 Illini Schedule Announced

The season schedule is now out, and available here. I'm not sure how we will do this year, but I do think this schedule will be plenty challenging for this year's squad. Maybe after some review, I will estimate wins and losses.

Thought I would share IU's new hire for A.D. Multiple media reports said on Monday that Fred Glass, an IU alumnus and attorney, will be named to replace Rick Greenspan. Greenspan announced his resignation in June but was to stay on until Dec. 31.

Glass has been involved in many Indiana sporting ventures, including the construction of Lucas Oil Stadium and trying to secure a Super Bowl for Indianapolis. He was the chief of staff for former Indiana governor Evan Bayh. MORE IMPORTANT, HE IS A LAWYER!

Indiana has lost three scholarships and is waiting to find out if the NCAA will impose further sanctions.
On an Illini note:Ex-Illini gym coach resigns amidst investigations... Maybe Illinois needs a lawyer for an AD too.

And since some of the Illini nation take pride in Indiana's NCAA woes, I will share with you Delaney's opinion.

Delaney (B10) says IU met monitoring standard (See IndyStar link)

Delaney while responding to the IU allegations said that IU did what is done at other universities to monitor compliance. He goes on and says that no additional sanctions are warranted. The commissioner wishes good luck to the new AD at IU and like most, probably thinks IU is in for a long struggle.

On the bright side, at least Illinois will have some one to beat on its schedule.
