There are early reports that DeAndre Liggins is expected to announce he is attending Illinois in the class of 2008. If true, this would be a huge recruit for the Illini and Coach Weber. Sources are Loren Tate and one of the recruiting websites (Rivals/Scout).
Liggins is a 6'5" or 6'6" guard or small forward from Chicago Washington who is in the top 100 players in the country and has rankings that are moving up based on his play. He could be the start of an excellent 2008 class, which might include 3 scholarships, will have to see.

Loren Tate thinks Illinois has a legit shot at Tate. Tate now believes he will oral commit within 3 weeks.
Personally, I feel Tate is wrong about this stuff more times than he is right.
Here is why I think Tate is wrong as to a U of I lien:
Liggins, a long 6-5 ball handler, is quickly moving up the Kansas wish list...the Chicago native is emerging as a McDonald’s All-American candidate.
I doubt Weber can win a recruiting battle against Self.

I think Weber is going after lots of 2008 recruits that are highly rated, and he is bound to get some for this class. I'm not sure about Liggins, but he has three slots to fill, and hope he gets some talent like Liggins.
I suspect Jeff Jordan will not end up an Illini either.
His face book allegedly suggests he is looking elsewhere.
