34-23 at Half

Wow, Illini looked great in the first half, this is the team I was expecting to see this year from Illinois. Need to keep going in the second half, but the defense was awesome in the first half, shooting was OK, so let's see what happens.

It appeared midway through the first half that the Illini were in control after McBride hit back to back 3 pointers and they were up by 10 at the end of the half.

McBride has the ability to be that go to scorer but the inside presence was not there against MSU. MSU is now a guard led team with Neitzel and company and the Illini should have tried to pound the rock down inside.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the comments. Seems like McBride has had two better games lately, so maybe he can be more of a scoring threat.

I agree they should have got the ball inside more, but they struggled running the offense in second half and seemed content to shoot 3 point shots.

A team should never settle for the outside shot, especially when the opponent is a guard oriented team.

Pounding the rock inside and being successful sets up for the opponent to double down low opening up the outside shot.

I agree, seems like that is essential for motion offense team. I think Pruitt and others have not always kicked the ball out well.

Maybe Illinois is just not very good. But don't panick. Help is on the way next year. Gordon... oops. I mean Cole, Tiz and McCamey. Oh yeah, then there is the california dude watkins who is known as the brick layer at his "high" school.
